If you really want to know how much large banners cost we first need to agree on how large is a “large banner”. A large banner is typically one that exceeds 12 feet in at least one direction. And from there they can go up to as large as you need.
What’s unfortunate is the lack of transparency into how much these cost. If you go onto any website that sells small to medium sized banners you can find a large range of pricing estimates that will give you a decent idea of what the cost will be. But not for the BIG banners and not for large quantities of big banners.
Here we’ll describe why that is and what you can expect to pay when quoting a large quantity for large banners.
Factors that Affect the Cost of Wide Banners
To be honest there are a good number of factors that could affect banner pricing so we decided to share with you the 3 most common things that will determine how much you pay for big banners. Let’s take a look at those below.
- Width & Height of Your Banner
The higher the square footage the more expensive a banner is going to be (banner cost per square foot). Furthermore if you have a banner that is so wide it needs to have multiple banners stitched, sewn or fastened together then the costs can go even higher.
- Material Selection
In most cases this won’t make a huge difference when it comes to the cost of your large banner, but in some cases it does so you’ll need to ask about price variance based on the material needs. Choices such as using vinyl, mesh, coatings and thicknesses can affect price.
- Banner Quantity
This is pretty simple but typically the more banners you buy the lower the per unit cost can be. It’s not always true but you’ll find this to be the case most of the time. We generally focus on large banner projects for multiple locations and that would require a higher quantity of big banners.
The Costs for Large Banners
Now the most important question. What are the actual costs for these very large or very wide banners? Like most companies will tell you, this can vary widely but we wanted to share some example sizes and price ranges that will give you at least a starting point when considering banners in your budgeting.
Example Banner Sizes and Price Ranges
20’ x 20’ vinyl typical cost $500 to $650
40’ x 40’ vinyl typical cost $1,900 – $2,400
30’ x 60’ mesh typical cost $2,300 – $2,900
Now your project is going to have a specific size, use case and other considerations so getting an accurate price for your large banners is going to need to come directly from your printing partner (Which we hope will be us!).
